Sampath Got Film On Caste Grounds?

Though it is not spoken and denied many times, the fact remains that the caste feeling and grouping is very common and strong in the Telugu film fraternity. This is one major reason why Tollywood is not as united as Kollywood. Anyways, the discussion now is about the mega compound giving red carpet to director Sampath Nandi.

As such, Sampath is not a great creative director. His last venture ‘Rachcha’ was not a masterpiece but just a routine commercial flick. It is an open secret that the film worked due to the efforts of the mega fans and not because of the director’s talent. Then how did Sampath get the offer of ‘Gabbar Singh 2’ from Pawan Kalyan?

Sources say there is only one reason and that is, his caste. Both Pawan and Sampath belong to the same caste. Filmnagar circles say it is only the ‘Kapu’ factor which worked for Sampath. However, Pawan is Andhra Kapu while Sampath Nandi is Telangana Munnuru Kapu. Ultimately, what mega compound wants is the ‘Kapu’ tag and Sampath wants a big film so it is a win-win deal.
