After the controversial alteration of âKomaram Puliâ to âPuliâ, the film has failed to impress the audience and has turned out to be a dud at the box office. The first to get depressed in this line are the fans of Pawan Kalyan and it is not only about the filmâs performance but also its caretaking.
Hero Pawan is in Jerusalem already in other project, heroine Nikesha doesnât know Telugu and she is new, director S J Suryah is in Chennai, producers Ramesh and Kalyan are already into âKhalejaâ. Getting the music director A R Rahman is next to impossible.
With all this, Pawan fans are now crying as to who will take care of their âPuliâ. Not that if someone is going to take care of it, the box office will show some oxygen but for the film with such huge budget and strong names attached to it, this treatment is not being digested well by the Pawan fans.
What Went Wrong?
It wasnât truly a roar, after all. Pavan Kalyanâs much-touted âPuli,â in which the actor plays a police officer ready to lay down his life for the country, could just end up as a dud at the BO, thanks to the mismatched screenplay, poor acting and clumsy direction. So much so, cinemas in the city saw much activism over the weekend.
These werenât âTâ supporters raising slogans against the use of âKomaramâ in the filmâs title but viewers who were screaming, unable to digest the heroâs rantings to cleanse policing and society at large in the film.
To top it all, music by A R Rahman was a major letdown giving viewers little to cheer about in the film. While Puliâs promos had looked slick and promising, the film left the audience cold. This when the film was in the making for over two years. So much for perfection, you see!
