I heard a parable about a person who decides to commit suicide. He writes some options before him:
1. Jumping from a multi storied building
2. Burning alive
3. Hanging to ceiling fan
4. Digging a knife into his belly
5. Eating sleeping pills
6. Drowning in water
7. Falling under a moving vehicle
After pondering a while, he got afraid.
Option number-1 is traumatic and highly painful as he would break anything or everything from head to toe.
Option-2 is horrible as it makes the body ash and more painful.
Option-3 is also fearful as it strangulates the neck and stops breathe
Number-4 ejects blood from belly which is fearful
Number-5 will be pathetic as he doesnât know how and when he dies
Number-6 will be shocking as water obstructs his breathing by running into his nostrils.
Number-7 is also pitiful as he would crush into paste.
Hence, he delayed his idea of committing suicide. But still, the desire to die persisted in him and hence attempted with Option Number-7!!! But he has chosen a right vehicle. That is 108 Ambulance. Thatâs the affinity between the body and life!!
The vehicle did hurt him and immediately lifted him to hospital along with first aid and saved his life!!!
Dying is not that easy. And declaring that in public and attempting is not at all easier. The so-called âfast unto deathâ declarations of politicians are not as serious as that of Potti Sree Ramuluâs. And this âfast unto deathâ has got value only with that iconic figure among Telugus. But it lost the sense now.
âFast Unto Deathâ- The term has lost its value in the year 2009. This opinion sounds true down the line for sure. The politicians are announcing âfast unto deathâ but claim for right medical treatment. Whatâs the essence in this so-called âF-U-Dâ?
A leader says that he is ready to die for a cause but demands for right medical aid in desired hospital. It sounds sensible if the family members of the politician are worried about his health and demanding the government for right medical aid. But the person who has decided to die should have no concern for his health. If a politician is really prepared to die with fasting, for a historical cause, he never claims for medical treatment. As I quoted above, Fasting-Unto-Death with Medical Support is like attempting suicide under an ambulance.
Iâm not pointing out any leader of any party fighting for a cause in particular. Iâm concerned with the confusion being created by politicians with âF-U-Dâ Dramas.
Let our politicians communicate in right way, convey in sensible terms and express with reasonable acts. Let our politicians portray their roles in real time with right characterization. Let our politicians keep the heads of citizens high with pride. Let the INK-DOT on the finger that comes once in every five years make sense.
