First wives club gets into action

The first wives club in Chennai is making sure that they bounce back with a vengeance. Lalitha Kumari, the estranged wife of Prakash Raj is reconnecting with her film friends and is looking for work again. Unwilling to play mother roles, Lalitha Kumari, who was known for having a great sense of humour, is positioning herself as a character artiste and is looking for roles that will make the most of her comic timing.

Ramlath, choreographer/ director Prabhu Deva’s wife, whose marriage has also been under close scrutiny is going in for a complete image makeover on the advice of her friends. She’s already taken the first step by enrolling in a lady’s gym at Anna Nagar and has been religiously working out. Apparently, her friends have been telling her that she can’t blame her husband was straying when temptation presents itself in the form of such a sexy actress, so Ramlath has started taking care of herself and getting into shape soon.

Sanjana Jon has been bravely fighting the odds and continues to work passionately for the causes she strongly believes in. And in times of trouble, one can really count on family and friends to rally around. The young designer, who’s been working for the cause ‘Save the girl child’, has found a friend and supporter in Suhasini Mani Ratnam. The actress not only helped Sanjana put a show together in Chennai, but also approached various celebs to walk the ramp. We hear that because of the girl child theme, they’ve got an all-women line up to display the clothes with the lone exception of one man, who could either be Mani Rathnam or our own AR Rahman. Sanjana refused to give away the secret, but shared that she’s planning to showcase women’s wear from different parts of India by giving it a contemporary twist with bright, bold and fun colours. And since Chennai is so close to her heart, she is quite keen that her family members too walk the ramp. We may see her handsome cousin Vijay Yesudas sashaying down the runway.

Talking about marriages, the one that’s got the entire country’s attention is Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra’s wedding this weekend. One hears that the Khemkas, who are great friends of the Shetty family have been invited for the wedding and they plan to attend too.

After the wedding, newly weds are planning to fly to Chennai, from where they will proceed to the Oneness University which is located in the outskirts to seek blessings from Amma and Bhagwan there.

The big question on everyone’s mind is whether the Khemkas will be hosting them in the city, as there’s a lot of curiosity to meet the celeb couple.
