The TANA community is at a critical juncture in TANAâs history â Itâs very unfortunate that our TANA community is more divided than ever. The basic principles of our beloved organizations are at cross roads and their reputation is at great risk. A great damage to our organizations has already been done.
These are tough times for TANA. At times like these, The Chicago community came forward and formed an Arbitration committee to resolve the issues among the leadership. We made it very clear to our TANA leadership that Chicago community fight has always been for the UNITY of Telugu community both at national and local level.
After extensive discussions / deliberations among the Chicago Telugu Community, the community proposed unanimously the following initiative. The main objective of this initiative is three fold: i) reestablish united TANA, ii) resolve the current impasse at TANAâs leadership, and (iii) get back to what matters â preserve and promote our Telugu heritage, culture and language.
To resolve the impasse, the following actions have to be taken by appropriate parties as suggested by the community:
(i) Reestablish the TANAâs Leadership – Convene the governing body (GB) of TANA to reaffirm each other, i.e., reinstate the duly elected President of TANA and the duly elected Executive Committee members. (No mediation required for this, GB can call for the meeting and invite all members and release the statement to press).
(ii) The unified 17th TANA Conference will be conducted by TANA as one unified team. This will show case our TANA members how well the leadership managed the situation and came out of the crisis.
We would like TANA EC and TANA President to come to Chicago together as a one team.
If the above two conditions are not fulfilled in next one week, Chicago community will not support any TANA conference activities.. If anyone tries to to make Chicago Telugu Community a play ground for their dirty politics and personal agendas, we as a Chicago Telugu Community will not tolerate and resist all such efforts vigorously and united.
