Telugu Association of Metro Atlanta (TAMA) will face electoral showdown on November 8 after intense efforts to avert election have failed. The Incumbent committee has been vertically divided into 2 panels and contesting elections for executive committe. TAMA executive committee is elected once a year and typically nominated unanimously. Differences aroused in the incumbent committee, this year on who would be nominated for 2009, which lead to elections. Each group has started campaigning vigorously through phone calls and emails with promising a clean and dedicated organization. Being a very close-knit community, conservative members of the community are irked by these elections and not sure on which panel to support. Telugu Association of Metro Atlanta (TAMA) was formed in 1981 and is currently containing around 800 Telugu families as both life and annual members.
