The late PV Narasimha Rao was not only a celebrated politician but also a great linguist as well as a poet and a writer. He had great interest in the fine arts too. His knowledge of history and his language skills are legendary.
PV Narasimha Rao became the first person from Andhra Pradesh to occupy the high office of Prime Minister and he also completed his five year term successfully.
PV had a high regard for artists from the movie industry. PV was moved by a noble act of Savithri in the early seventies. During the Indo-Pak war, a program was conducted to mobilize funds for the Sainik Nidhi. Savithri donated a sum of 30,000 rupees for the fund in those days. PV Narasimha Rao was then the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.
He was very moved with her act and was also highly impressed with her nobility. He felicitated Savithri then and there and praised her sky high. He also became a big fan of the actress from then on. In fact, PV turned a fan of Rajendra Prasad when he was PM.
