Recently on Jan 22, 2008, Mr. Damodaran Mahasamudram has met with an unfortunate accident on I 70 East while traveling from Columbus, OH to Pittsburg , PA to attend work after a long weekend. Mr. Damodaran has suffered severe head and neck injuries and was admitted to Ohio Valley Medical Center , Wheeling, WV . H e is still in ICU 2 weeks after the incident. The family members and friends have decided to move Mr. Damodaran from Ohio Valley Medical Center , Wheeling to Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, MI which is known for better neurotrauma care. His wife Mrs.Vanitha Mahasamudram and 2 children are also planning to move from Columbus to Detroit temporarily to take care of Mr. Damodaran. Moreover, his other family members also live in Detroit .
Apart from the co pays for all the medical expenses, the transportation (Air Lift by a medically equipped plane) from Wheeling, WV to Detroit, MI (Air lift) is not covered under the medical plan. Also, there may be some additional non covered medical expenses.
In order to support their family in this difficult financial situation, we all friends have decided to accept voluntary contributions from our communities.
We sincerely thank you for your contributions and more importantly standing next to the family and giving a good hope to them that we are here for them!
