The ailing Indian student Abhinay Reddy Nyalakonda who was battling with brain dysfunction caused by accidental drowning in a swimming pool in Terre Haute,Indiana has been demised. He fought until last minute but couldnot survive. He got the best possible medial attention. Should appreciate the doctors at Methodist hospital in Indianapolis for trying until last minute.

On an unfateful day he seized and drowned in an unattended swimming pool in the apartment community he lives. It is reported that he was drowned for few minutes before someone nearby discovered him and called 911. He was administered CPR and he started breathing after 7 min of CPR and then he was airlifted from Terre Haute to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He has been in coma since then.

An avid soccer player and fan Abhinay was a very promising and bright student. He was to graduate with his Master`s this December. Filled with dreams and hopes his family were looking forward to a bright future for him. He is the only financial support for his ailing family back home, which has taken much pains and sacrifices to send him to USA by borrowing multiple loans. All their dreams and hopes are in vain now.

Now his cousins and friends are working with Indian Consulate in Chicago to send Abhi`s body to India. He will be transferred to India via AirIndia flight from Chicago to Hyderabad on Saturday. The family specially thanks GITA (Greater Indianapolis Telugu Association) and NATS (North America Telugu Society) for their coordination, contribution and support during the difficult time.

Many fellow Indians prayed for his recovery but prayers went unnoticed. There has been a campaign running to collect funds to save him. The response was tremendous from all quarters. Many donors especially from Indian community donated generously to help save him. Even though no one can bring him back and the damage to the family is irreversible, the money might be a little help to the family. The collected fund will now be used to take care of the medical expenses and to transfer him to India. The rest will be given to help his financially broken family back in India.

We should all pray for his soul to rest in peace and our prayers should go out to his family.
