Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao has once again proved that he is a hoax and all that he does in the name of Telangana is nothing but a farcical drama.
For the last one month, the TRS president has created a lot of hype in the media and the public that he is going to shake the government with his fast-unto-death. He even compared himself to Potti Sriramulu and Mahatma Gandhi and gave such an impression that he was definitely going to give up his life this time for the sake of Telangana. Several electronic channels conducted live chat shows with him and despite repeated appeals by the people, KCR declared that he would not touch even a drop of water.
But, all that proved a big drama now. KCR knew that he was going to be arrested and it happened exactly. He knew that the police would shift him to hospital and the same thing happened. He was aware that the doctors would administer him saline and it also happened without any protest.
In fact, people of Telangana also knew that the government would forcibly break his fast as no government would allow a leader to die just like that. But they were expecting that KCR would put up a strong resistance to the attempts of the police and the doctors. They thought he would declare that even if he was given saline forcibly, he would resume his fast after being discharged.
But nothing of that sort happened. The TRS president happily accepted the fruit juice given by the doctors and took a sip. He wiped out his mouth with the towel and posed for photographs and videographs taken by the police. And he declared that he was giving up the fast!
If that was his whole plan, why did he fool the people? Why did he cheat the innocent students who lost their precious examination time and went on to streets in solidarity with him? Why did he become responsible for the injury of so many students? Will he take the responsibility for the life of a young lawyer who immolated himself in Hyderabad?
Well, the incident has further bring down his credibility. Now, KCR has no moral right to speak on the Telangana issue. It has now become a dead issue.
