In what can be deemed as one of the most highly foolproof challenges that has overcome, the police department seems to have averted a possible clash that could have led to some really gory communal riots. The location is the old city area and the occasion is the Ganesh festival which is a rather tight ropewalk season for the police force.
Apparently, there is news that one of the idols installed in those areas was subjected to some objectionable articles and in no time the staunch fundamentalists of the VHP, RSS and BJP were on the roads to retaliate. But then the timely intervention of the police department and this time in a rather strategic and intelligent way has diffused the issue.
It is heard that the cops explained the agitated group that everything has been taken care of and the people responsible for the act have already been rounded up. They also went ahead and assured that the daily activity of the Ganesh and its expenses will be taken care of without a hitch. While this is one commendable feat by the police department who has prevented a major disaster, the miscreants responsible are said to be the illegal immigrants from Bangladesh.
Police said that the local Muslims and Hindus are very friendly with each other and there is no scope for communal riots with the present standards of understanding between the two communities. But the ISI and Bangladesh groups those are illegally living in this area and problematic and planning to create some sort of disturbance.
