TANA governing board must have learnt the lesson âThe Chicago community cannot be taken for granted”. Majority from Chicago Community oppose the conference to be held in Chicago. They recently sent an email to the Governing Board in this regard.
ATTN: TANA GOVERNING BOARD AND CONFERENCE COMITTEE
Dear Friends,
At our last steering committee meeting on September 27, 2008, we sadly witnessed the split among our Chicago Telugu community. This split is clearly evolved from the divided leadership at the Governing Body of TANA. That really disheartened us. Since then, we have tried very hard to mediate between the governing body and the President (along with plaintiffs of law suit) of TANA. Both sides are pulling TANA in diametrically opposite directions without realizing it would be too late before it reaches a critical yield stress beyond the point of return. At this stage, we feel both sides are not ready for compromise. We have already lost invaluable committee members such as Suresh Velagapudi garu, Rathna Garapati garu, Praveen Moturu Garu, Phani Ramineni Garu, Ravi Achanta Garu etc……
We feel that the current leadership of 2009 TANA Conference at Chicago is solely responsible for the division in Chicago.
Hence, it is not possible to work for the 2009 Conference with dedication and unity. Under these circumstances, we regretfully feel that we should not be part of this steering committee for the 2009 TANA convention.
Best Regards,
CHICAGO TELUGU COMMUNITY

If the expelled GB members stand on their stubborn refusal to accept the community feelings, they will be facing the similar resistance from most communities too. Members still hope that GB will eventually reverse their stubborn position in all the matters leading to current crisis.
