Dangers Surrounding Girls’ Hostels

Call it a boon or bane but then the independence and liberty that is being given to the fairer sex has been leading to quite a few complications in today’s world and every now and then the newspapers and the media channels have been flashing news of deaths and suicides happening of teen girls.
 
The general scene at a girls hostel in the city these days is that of boys coming in their bikes and spending eternity talking to girls. On the other hand, the girls are busy at all corners of the hostel premises talking endlessly on their mobiles. Given this sort of reach and freedom, it is not a surprise that such mishaps keep happening.
 
It is about time that the concerned authorities and the system takes initiatives to ensure that certain norms are rolled out so that such things can be avoided. A share of responsibility is on the parents also to ensure that they keep track of their daughters movements and handle them with maturity.
