Ice Cream Lovers Celebrate ‘Special’ Day!!!

Surprising as it may seem, a new ‘day’ has been added to the long list of special days celebrated in the city. There are days for mother, father, doctor and of course the special Valentine’s day, this time the people woke up to celebrate the ‘World Ice Cream Day’ on Sunday.

Taking this as a chance, the city hotels offered discounts on various ice-cream flavours lined up at their stores. Some parlours went a step ahead and decorated their premises with balloons and they lured people to enjoy the day with their variety stock of ice-creams. 

But many are asking what exactly is the day about? Sources tell us that it was US president Ronald Reagan who had designated the third Sunday of July as the national ice cream day. This was in the year 1984 as he realized that more than 90 per cent of the American population consumed ice cream. So time now for Ice Cream lovers to celebrate their special day.
