Hyderabad: A software engineer working with an IT company in Pune was today arrested by Mangalhat police here on the charge of cheating a 30-year-old woman artist, his live-in partner, by promising to marry her and breaking the promise.
Cherukuri Sudhakar, a native of Khammam district, allegedly befriended the woman, a painter, seven years ago and the two had a physical relationship as he also promised to marry her.
But after he shifted to Pune three months ago, he started avoiding her, said Mangalhat Inspector G Sridhar. “On the promise of marriage, Sudhakar had a physical relationship with the woman, however, he later refused to marry her and thereby cheated her,” the inspector said.
He was arrested from Pune last night and brought here. (PTI)
