Legal Talk: New Rule For ‘Drinkers’

Strange are the ways of our laws and regulations. Perhaps that is one major drawback of a democratic system. And now, a new point has been picked up by our ‘Mandhu Babulu’ and this has put the administration and the authorities into a fix.
 
It is a common sutra to see the words ‘Don’t drink and drive’ and ironically, the places which offer liquor and serve alcohol have got valet parking. Well, the logic doesn’t work here since on one hand, you are told not to drink and on the other hand putting valet parking indirectly means you are not coming with a driver.
 
So now, a proposal is being worked on and if all goes well, then the valet parking is likely to be removed from those places. This is a thought by the police department and the reason for that is also due to an interesting incident. It seems that recently one man got arrested on drunken driving and he mentioned about the valet parking incident and threatened to file a PIL. He said that if government and police are giving green signal for Valet Parking at Bars and Pubs, it means that green signal is given even for drunken drive.
