The topics for achieving doctorates have always been more towards engineering, science, arts, philosophy but it will be a rather one off or a rare situation that you come across someone who is doing a research and later writing a thesis on the lyrics that have been written for films.
There is one such person and his name is Muni Krishna Reddy, he has recently submitted a dissertation at the Nagarjuna University and this contains nothing but his research and analysis on the two hundred plus lyrics that have been penned by the noted lyricist Chandrabose.
While this comes across as a rather interesting subject for a thesis, it really goes to show the marvel of the human mind and the degrees of creativity that it can get to achieve some really deserving qualifications. Let us wait and see if Krishna Reddy is really able to make something out of the PhD awarded to him apart from the highly qualified degree.
