Muslim Marriage In Ramalayam

India has boasted its secular feeling to entire world with an interesting incident in Gujarat. Two Muslim pairs have performed their nikah (marriage) in Sri Ramalayam.
 
The temple priests have greeted the couple and their relatives and made arrangements for the nikah. The moulwi (Muslim priest) has greeted the priest of that temple with ‘namaskar’ and the priest reciprocated to moulwi with a traditional 3 Muslim hugs. The nikah was performed and the feast was given in pure vegetarian as per the norms of temple.
 
Almost 200 Muslims have taken part in this historical marriage. When media approached them they said that they wanted to give an answer to chauvinists in this secular manner and there is no other motive behind. “We wanted to say first we are Indians and then we are Muslims”, said Md Younis, a relative for one of the brides.
 
“We have seen communal riots in Gujarat. But we know the people behind that. Lashkar E Toiba, Simi or any Taliban group! Just remember, we are Indians and your religious games will not shatter us. What religion you know? We teach you what Islam is. Come and learn with folded hands. Or learn looking at this nikah in Ramalayam”, said Saima Saddiqua, a relative from grooms side.
 
Sheik Altaf, one of the grooms said, “Inshah Allah !! yeh nikah khuda Ram, maa Seeta ji aur Hanuman ki bhala se ho rahee hai” (this marriage of mine is being performed with the blessings of Lord Rama in the name of Allah).
