Donations collected by Naidu in the in the disguise of charity namely NTR Trust during his recent visit to USA and UK are being used for purely political purposes.
Since there is a law in place preventing NRIs making donations to political parties. Hi Tech Babu schemed to raise funds through NRI s using NTR Trust. The opportunist Babu, whenever he has to reach the public brings the name of Late NT Rama Rao to the forefront.
Babu using his resources created a network of 2009 election party candidate hopefuls and roped them in to arrange venues and publicize the events to garner men and money. These aspiring future politicians were ruthless and bypassed local die hard TD supporters and NTR fans.
The money raised in the USA is close to $ 8 million from the whirlwind tour across several states. As per local sources the person who hosted the event in London is promised a parliament ticket in 2009 elections. The money raised in London approximately £ 60,000 is being spent in the constituency for political mileage.
It is reported that a strong community which was instrumental in establishing the European Telugu Association and bringing Late NTR to Birmingham was completely sidelined in the London event. Even the local Telugu Association of London was ignored.
Most of the TD sympathizers are fuming over the insult by TD leadership and were surprised by the commercial and political angle given to NTR Trust fund raising event.
Time for the innocent donors to demand accountability through transparency. Moral of the story is donât take things at face value and when you are dealing with politicianâs theres always more than what meets to the eye.
