Paalamoor NRIs request TANA to adapt July 4th 2009 as Khadi Day

Several Paalamoor NRIs(http://paalamoornri.org/ ) including visiting BJP state Vice President Smt Jhansi Rani flicitated Sri Jayaram Komati, President elect TANA with Paalamoor Khadi clothes recently at a private function held at Swagath Restaurent Milpitas, CA USA.
 
Smt Jhansi Rani who came here on a USA along with PNRI coordinator Vijay Chavva met several telugu leaders across USA and requested to take part in reviving Paalamoor Khadi and explained how key important role Khadi will play in rural industry and upliftment of weavers who are facing hard struglle for survival. As many people aware Paalamoor Khadi and Jhari including Gadwal saris, Narayanpet Sarees, Kothakota Pattu were world famous and now the industry is the thereshold of closure. The khadi weaving was like a centuries old art in Mahaboobnagar and was supporter of major livelihood fopr the people in the region.
 
They made a special request to TANA president elect to consider declare July4th as a Khadi day during next TANA celebration for which Jayaram responded positively to assure his best efforts in helping the cause.
 
Later Vijay Chavva also said soon they will make these world known artistic sarees avialable globally through www.paalamoorstore.com which will become operational before dussera festival. The main aim of the store is to help the revival of dyeing weaver industry and avoid starvation deaths inthe weavers community.
 
The private function was attended by several Paalamoor NRIs and friends including FIA chairman Sri Chandru Bhambhra.
