Let me first tell you that I probably support Mr. Kakarala (TANA President) lot more than I do the Executive Committee/Governing Body. There is no doubt that a lot of the general membership is very upset with the current Governing Body for their actions as well as inactions. And because of their stance against the governing body, they obviously viewed the minority (President, etc) as under-dogs with some soft corner. But today’s flyer is going to completely wipe that out.

I received a newsletter in the USPS this evening, which carried ‘TANA President’s Message’. After reading thru that flyer, it didn’t look like it carried any message, but rather exposed the personal agenda and the hollow think-tanks of the leadership who pushed TANA to this current stage.

The flyer announced the so called ‘Chair of the TANA Nominations and Elections Committee’. Ok..Fine..!! It went on to announce the election schedule as well. Very Good..Not a problem. But only when you look at the dates on that schedule, will you realize the level of arrogance that has crept into our beloved (not so long ago) leadership.

The schedule declares the last date to file nominations as ‘December 8, 2008’. And I received the flyer this evening, while a lot of folks in my area haven’t received it at all yet. They may get it Monday..they may not. Irrespective, Monday is the last day for nominations. Did you get upset on hearing this or did you think it is funny? People are thinking this is a ‘Joke’. Nobody knows what the nomination process or procedure is. Nobody has access to the nomination form. The two websites that the President referred to ‘www.tanaworld.org’ and ‘www.tana2009.org’ are not operational as of 9PM MST on Friday, December 5th. And the only website that one can access ‘www.tana.org’ still lists the schedule of the previous election (early 2007).

It is beyond my comprehension as to how one can be so irrational and ignorant. A small sensible thought or a meaningful discussion could have pointed out the deficiencies or disadvantages and avoided this fiasco. When what you are saying and doing is already being contested, why can’t you do whatever you are doing, a little better? Why hand over opportunities and expose weaknesses to your opposition? What good is it if you already have the nomination forms in your hand, of people who you want and are trying to cut out anyone else who may want to file a nomination? That is much worse than the current governing body.

If someone files a complaint against the election process or at a higher level, the organization itself, then who will be responsible? Is it the current governing body, because they have already taken the membership fees or is it this new hurriedly elected body, which (in your language) is the official one?

Leaders, Please..Please..give anything and everything a little thought before coming out into public with your statements and actions.
