Paalamoor NRIs conducted first Paalamoor Day

Paalamoor NRIs(www.paalamoornri.org) have conducted first Paalamoor Day in the head quarters on a Sunday evening recently.
 
This is a annual event where in NRIs have travelled all the way to district headquarters from USA to attend the event. For the first  event they choose “Once a week” theme and called all the employees, service organizations, political activists, etc for wearing Paalamoor hand woven khadi clothes which are made in the district on every saturday in the week . The call is given to all the district people living in the world with emphasis on those living locally. This is the first annual event and is limited to only one cause this time. Next year event would cover and discuss several other issues like starvation deaths, labor migrations etc and discussions will be arranged by intellectuals and NGOs to reduce the hardship in the district.
 
The Paalamoor Day is celebrated in the guidance and coordination of its coordinator Vijay Chavva(who travelled from USA) and Khadi Jaagaran Comittee which is formed from local NGOs, renowned people, Govt employess associations(Telangana NGO Union, District Revenue employees assn etc), service organizations like Vasavi Club, Satya Sai Seva Trust, Lions Club etc.
 
The Paalamoor Day is celebrated in local ZP grounds and was inaugrated by Dr Chinna Reddy cabinet minister for  Rural Development, Government of. Andhra Pradesh.
 
Khadi and Handicarfts exhibition was arranged in the grounds with several stalls displaying Paalamoor handi crafts and khadi woven in the district bt weavers socities.later in the day a meeting was arranged which was attended leaders of by all the political parties like Congress(I),BJP,TRS,Manaparty,LokSatta etc.
 
The meeting was attended and addressed by following people apart from Sri Chinna Reddy Minsiter of AP govt
 
1) Puli Veeranna, ex-minister and Mahabubnagar local MLA,
2) Ditrict ZP chairman Sri Damodar Reddy,
3) District Congress President Sri Muthyala Prakash
4) Mahabub Nagar Muncipal Chairman Sri Obedulla Kotwal
5) Smt Jhansi Rani State Vice President of BJP
6) Jakka Raghunandan State exec member of BJP and other party members from the district
7) Bekkam Janardhan, State General Secy of TRS and other local TRS party cadres
8) District president of Manaparty representing backward castes
9) Leaders from Communists parties and Loksatta
10) Representatives from Service organisations like Satya sai seva trust, Lions clubs,Rotary Club, Vasavi clubs and Govt associations.
11) NRI industrialist Shekar Bathina and others
 
For the first time District administration extended its full support in arrangements but due to announcement of polls, at the last moment Collector and Superintendent of Police have stayed away the meeting. Dept of Khadi and handlooms have extended full support for arrangemnts and for displays in exhibition.
 
After Inauguration and While speaking to the media and Sri Chinna Reddy Hon’ble minister has congratulated NRI’s in truth and spirit in following in Mahatama Steps and work towards Sampurna Grama Swarajya and having a thought to help the poor in right way by giving call to wear Paalamoor Khadi on every saturday in the week, he said AP govt has already released a GO to the extent for wearing Khadi on every saturday. He explained about E-Charka program and by adapting this method all Village Industries can become self sufficent. He requested Vijay Chavva NRI coordinator to take e-charkha program to the NRI orgnaizations and help people to get finance if possible.
 
During Meeting ZP chairman, Muncipal Chairman have promised to request employees to wear Paalamoor Khadi on every saturday. BJP,TRS , Manaparty also have promised to request their cadres to visit villages only with paalamoor khadi clothes.Puli Veeranna Local MLA and district congress president Sri Muthala Praksh said Paalamoor never forgets NRIs efforts in thinking about the development of the district.
 
The local weavers communities under the leadership of Vinay Sarangi have extended full cooperation.Most of the people on the stage were requested to come for the meeting by wearing paalamoor khadi and many of them have graciously honored it.
 
The program was culminated with cultural programs by Seva Bharathi(The org which adapted poor people with the financial help from paalamoor NRIs and gantasala cultural association a local association.
 
Vijay Chavva has thanked all the people who helped in putting a first step forward seeding for a better and self-sufficeint society, he said the ideology for this concept has been taken from model NRI and nation of the father Gandhiji. He said district people have requested for some help for weavers families who have lost life with hardship but instead of extending benefits after the death NRIs have thought a step forward and gave  a shape to the concept to make them live and making them self suuficents. He said it is a very challenging program and need lot of locals support in order to make it a succesfull and model program, he also requested people to come voluntarily and work towards it.
 
Later diffrent weavers socities have come forawrd to stand by the program and requested these kind of programs in all the districts.
