Puttaparthi, the abode of Bhagwan Satya Sai Baba, has been turned into a virtual fortress by the police forces on Wednesday, amidst the reports that Baba had slipped into coma.
Doctors have virtually thrown up their hands as his heart beat slowed down, pulse rate dropped and blood pressure fell rapidly, while liver developing severe infection, indicating deterioration in his vital health parameters.
Hospital director A.N. Safya said Sai Baba continued to be on assisted ventilation to help his lungs and on CRRT (continuous renal replacement therapy) to assist his kidneyâs functioning.
Additional police forces were rushed to Puttaparthi in Anantapur district for deployment in the town, especially around the hospital. Hundreds of checkposts were erected all along the routes leading to Puttaparthi to see that nobody from the Satya Sai Trust takes away any material or money or valuables to outside.
Director General of Police Aravind Rao told reporters in Kurnool that Sai Babaâs condition was critical.
Earlier, there was a talk that Baba would be subject to âSajeeva Samadhiâ (burial while still being alive). The devotees were given the impression that given Babaâs divine status, the Satya Sai Trust may declare that he has entered âSajeeva Samadhiâ. But, there was no confirmation from the trust, at all.
