Just recently, I came across the article that spoke about the pulse of the Kamma community in the Eenadu group. This has really inspired me to add my thoughts to that as an extension.

Each and every word mentioned in the article is cent percent correct. I say all that is true as I have relatives that have been working there and when they shared their experiences, I thought it was a mixture of disbelief and shock. My own relatives have been victims of the Eenadu Kamma feeling and there is no exaggeration in saying that they feel like the Eenadu Kammas is a separate sect altogether.

For some reason, there seems to be no difference between them and the TRS folks who are blinded by nothing but a single reason to just focus on their own skins and their own motives.

I always had a great and deep respect for Eenadu for bringing about a revolution in the print media in Andhra Pradesh but today, the legacy which Ramoji Rao has gathered has gone down the drain purely due to the excessive caste feeling. There are many in my circles who are now coming out with their own experiences about how obsessed few of them have been in the Eenadu group and how this has affected the growth and image of the organization.

Unfortunately, a similar situation has been experienced by my uncle while he was working in the Margadarsi chit funds. He was never a happy man for the fact that he was not a Kamma and it was only out of his necessity that he stuck there bearing all the humiliation. Talent, hardwork and commitment don’t seem to be the credentials there anymore. All one has to be is a Kamma and everything would fall in line. In times when the whole world is going towards development and unified thinking, it is a shame to see the Eenadu group resorting to such narrow minded approach. However, I still believe that somewhere those buried ethics that Ramoji had during the start of his career are waiting to be unearthed and if he does that, then it wont be long before he will be called as the true ‘Media Baron’.
