TAGDV (Telugu Association of Greater Delaware Valley) celebrated Sankranti celebrations on 23rd January, 2011 at Bharateeya Temple, Lansdale, Philadelphia. Despite severe winter weather conditions and Phillies game, more than 200 people attended the event.
Sankranti celebrations started with Prayer song by Surya Prakash Nakkela and the Welcome address by Cultural Committee. President Sailaja Adluru gave the welcome address.
As part of Sankranthi celebrations TAGDV also conducted Bone Marrow Drive which got good response, Special Thanks to Akkaraju Sharma garu and Team who initiated and conducted the Bone Marrow Drive.
The program was organized into cultural programs and Muggulu & Drawing competitions followed by Bhogi Pallu to the kids. Bommala Koluvu also organized as part of Sankranthi Celebrations. Dr. Srinivasa Reddy distributed the prizes. Venu and Meghana Bathini sponsored the Gift Items.
Audiences were mesmerized by the programs performed by Harika Malineni, VandanaKommareddy, Aditya Gunturi, RadhikaKoneru, SatyaVarma, KavithaAnanth, HemaSujjan, RituNegi, Sapna Ram, ShriyaKoneru, ShilpaKoneru, AanikaVarma, VaralikaAnanth, Riya Patel, SreesudhaPalepu, Sai Krishna Palepu, Chandra SekharPalepu, BrijayVarma,SandeepSiddapureddy, Bharath , SprasaThippireddy, Vihar Rallapalli, Vivekanada Shetty, Alekya Gunturi, Surya Prakash Nakkela, Geya , HimaBhimanapalli, NithishaEluri, ShriyaKoneru, AanikaVarma, RithikaSegireddy, SrinidhiDhandibotla
TAGDV members and Audience expressed their sincere thanks for all the hard work by the Executive Committee, Madhavi Mandala, Ravi Potluri, Padmini Karnam, Lalitha Rallapalli, Raj Kuppuswamy, Sambaiah Kotapati, Venu Bathini, Bhaskar Sarikonda, Madhu Divyakola, Suresh Reddy, Harnath bungatavula, Shanthi Korutla and volunteers Vasmi Krishna Alapati, Sunil Koganti , Rammohan Talluri, Swarupa Kotapatti, Sudhakar Akasapu, Vijaya Parchuri, Amani Parchuri etc.
Everybody enjoyed the special delicious Sankranti Dinner sponsored by Bawarchi & Dosahut restaurants and Annapoornalu.
The program ended with singing American and Indian national anthems.
