Saytanarayana Reddy & Panel wins TAMA Elections in Atlanta

Dr. Tangirala Satayanarayana Reddy and his panel were elected as Telugu Association of Metro Atlanta (TAMA) executive committee for the year of 2009.  A hard fought election has generated huge amount of interest and attention among Telugu community, in and out of Atlanta with both contesting groups involved in intense and vigorous campaign. Dr. Reddy is served as vice president for 2008 and served the organization for last few years at various positions. Professor by profession, Dr. Reddy is instrumental in setting up Georgia Tech at Hyderabad.  The election has attracted large turnout for TAMA Diwali Celebrations, higher than any TAMA function, where in the elections were held and close to 900 members had cast their vote to elect the committee. Contrary to apprehensions of some section of the member community, the election was conducted in very democratic fashion with both contesting parties showing lot of restrain and respect for each other. Nomination committee, which oversaw the election process, has done excellent job in providing appropriate atmosphere for peaceful elections, which took more than 6 hours to conclude.
