Every festival carries an ulterior philosophy. And once that philosophy is known and implemented it should be understood that the true spirit of festival is celebrated.

The occasion of Diwali is attributed to the death of Narakasura in the hands of Satya Bhama. The cruel demon Narakasura fought with Lord Krishna and the latter was collapsed at a moment in the fight. Then Satyabhama, the wife of Lord Kruishna, who was beside him didn’t run away with fear. She didn’t even surrender to Narakasura assuming that he is mightier than her husband. At the same time she didn’t force or pester her husband to get up soon and continue fight. She didn’t even mock at her husband’s weakness. She simply took the bows and arrows and accomplished the deed determined by her husband. She killed Narakasura. Here the philosophy is, ‘Lord Krishna is not weaker than Narakasura to collapse. He collapsed voluntarily to show the strength of wife for every husband. And at the same time he thought to show how a wife should be co-operative for her husband. He had practically shown that’.

Today, majority of divorce cases are hitting courts only due to the lack of this mutual co-operation. Majority of Husbands are not recognizing the strength of their wives and the wives do not understand their husbands. When every pair stands like ‘Krishna and Satyabhama’ then none can split them. They stand out to be an example for modern world. The chemistry of Krishna-Satyabhama possesses the modern touch. Although Satya is known for her short temper and pride, she loved her husband and helped him when he was in trouble. She never left him through out his life.

Let us wish that all husbands recognize the strengths of their wives and all wives understand and co-operate with their husbands. HAPPY DIWALI.
