Rithesh, a young man from Ongole, came to the United States in 2022 to pursue his Master’s degree at UC Riverside, carrying the dreams of his family and a bright future ahead of him.
On May 24, 2026, during a trip to Destin, Florida, a diving accident resulted in a severe spinal cord injury. He survived cardiac arrest and underwent emergency surgery, but he currently remains dependent on a ventilator and requires extensive rehabilitation.
Despite the challenges, Rithesh is showing signs of recovery and continues to fight with remarkable courage. His best chance for long-term rehabilitation is in India, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
The estimated cost for air ambulance transportation, medical expenses, rehabilitation, and ongoing care is approximately $300,000.
