More disturbing details have emerged in the case of a 30-year-old Indian techie accused of killing his wife in Bellevue, Washington.
Police allege that software development engineer Avinash Narne strangled his 27-year-old wife, Raajitha Sabbineni, and then staged the scene to make her death appear mysterious.
The case dates back to October 27, 2025, when Narne called police and claimed that his wife had locked herself inside the bathroom and was not responding.
Officers forced open the door and found Sabbineni lying on the floor. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Narne initially told investigators that he had gone out to run errands and returned about 40 minutes later to find the bathroom locked.
But investigators reportedly found no evidence of anyone else entering the apartment during the period he was away.
The next day, the King County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Sabbineni’s death a homicide, saying she died from asphyxia caused by strangulation.
The investigation then took an even darker turn.
Police allegedly discovered that Narne had been in a secret relationship with a woman in India for several years. Despite that relationship, he entered into an arranged marriage with Sabbineni on June 5, 2025.
Officials claim the girlfriend even attended the wedding.
According to investigators, Narne continued the relationship after his marriage.
On the day of Sabbineni’s death, he allegedly called the woman at least four times, including around the time he told police he was trying to enter the locked bathroom.
In one of the most shocking allegations, officials said Narne also sent his girlfriend a photograph of his wife’s dead body.
Investigators further recovered text messages in which Sabbineni reportedly complained that drinks prepared by Narne often tasted bitter.
On the day she died, she allegedly messaged him saying that a smoothie he had made tasted like “medicine” and “cough syrup”.
Narne has now been charged with one count of first-degree murder.
He remains in custody on $5 million bail and could face life in prison if convicted.
The latest revelations have added a chilling new dimension to a case that has already shocked the Indian community in the United States.
