TANA General Body met today (10/04/08) in Atlanta with several hundreds of TANA members attending the meeting from cities across the US. Dr. Apparao Mukkamala presided the meeting as a parliamentarian, Dr. Ranakumar as the historian, Gopi Gopalam as Secretary for this meeting and the attorney, David P Goch from Maryland observed the proceedings to ensure Maryland laws are followed.
 
Mr. Prabhakar explained to the members the current status of TANA affairs. Attorney David P Goch explained to the members that the Governing Board actions are not in accordance to Maryland State law.
 
Following RESOLUTIONS were passed UNANIMOUSLY
 
RESOLUTION1: WHEREAS, Prabhakar Choudary Kakarala performed exemplarily to uphold the aims and objectives of TANA to serve the membership of TANA and whereas the governing body of TANA unconstitutionally and contrary to the law of the State of Maryland, attempted to relieve Prabhakar Choudary of his responsibilities as president of TANA on September 25 2008 and whereas according to the Maryland stature and case law “Md. Code Ann., Corps. & Ass’ns, &2-406, &1-101” this is not valid and it is deliberate violation of TANA BYLAWS.
 
BE IT RESOLVED that this general body reaffirms full confidence and trust in Prabhakar Choudary Kakarala as the president of TANA.
 
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the president of TANA, Prabhakar Choudary Kakarala be the sole and only spokesperson of TANA with any and all media.
 
RESOLUTION2:  WHEREAS, the following governing body members of TANA have violated TANA bylaws by voting to remove Prabhakar Choudary Kakarala as President of the corporation (TANA), who is duly elected by the general body of TANA. This is not valid according to TANA BYLAWS, Maryland statutes, Maryland case law and established common law Md. Code Ann., Corps. & Ass’ns, &2-406, &1-101

BE IT RESOLVED, that the above members’ TANA membership and their respective positions be revoked for deliberate violation of TANA bylaws
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the vacant positions in the TANA governing board filled according to the bylaws.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the president be authorized to get control of all assets of TANA, including but not limited to, TANA funds, bank accounts, web site, Domain name, TANA Patrika and publications.
 
RESOLUTION 3: WHEREAS, ON October 27, 2006 EC approved to conduct 17th TANA conference in Florida and authorized Prabhakar Choudary Kakarala, then president elect to zero out on a conference center.  On June 16th 2007 BOT approved to conduct 17th TANA conference in Florida.
 
BE IT RESOLVED that the general body of TANA today reaffirms the decision made earlier to have the 17th conference of TANA at Orlando, FL.
 
RESOLUTION 4:
 
BE IT RESOLVED, that the president of TANA, Prabhakar Choudary Kakarala, be authorized to approve the current membership rolls and appoint an independent committee to conduct fair and free elections.
