The technology boom has created a great opportunity for the highly educated Indian community across the world. Indian population in the North American subcontinent has grown in multiple folds within the last decade. Particularly, the Telugu community has surged to its highest levels in the United States and Canada. As most of us are professionals, such as doctors and engineers, we have earned as a community a unique recognition and have become an integral part of both The United States of American and Canada.
While we enjoy many social and cultural gatherings, we also see regularly many catastrophic incidents like homicides, accidents and domestic aggression that involve our treasured Telugu community. Although, there is a great public mechanism in North America to handle such drastic events, TANA, as one of the largest Indian associations in the world, feels great pride in responding to help and protect our fellow Telugu people.
As TANA emerged from a literary, resourceful and non-profit oriented entity, we also see an imperative need to create a helping arm for our community. TANA has, indeed, many generous and service oriented members across North America to help create an approachable, assisting service-oriented organization.
To best utilize such membership resources and to respond to those in need, TANA treasurer Mr. Mohan Nannapaneni has proposed the program TEAM². The Executive Committee discussed this program in detail in the Executive Committee meeting and unanimously approved to move forward with this proposal. In few weeks, TANA will finalize all fine details relating to this program and will communicate to all the Telugu People across the country.
In my recent visits to various cities across America, several enthusiastic members suggested several great programs that TANA can undertake, TANA Interim President Mr. Komati Jayaram added. He mentioned that TANA will work towards implementing them in a timely manner.
