This is the time where women need not afraid of men. Women are mightier than men now as the law is favorable for them. This is one incident where a lady made his cruel husband piss in trousers and go behind bars. Swati Burri of Rajavommangi Village in East Godavari district was married to Vaddi Srinivas of Vizag in February 2008. The couple left for USA in March and started living in Kansas, Missouri State. Srinivas has been cruel towards his wife Swati and tortured her by all means demanding for extra dowry. Swati attempted suicide as well and got the treatment at St Luke’s Hospital. The local police called Moganti Ram Kumar and asked him to take care of Swati. Now Swati is living with her uncle in Charlotte. Husband Srinivas left for Vizag on June 12th without informing Swati followed by the death of one of his relatives.
Meanwhile Swati gave a complaint through email to DGP of CID, Women Protection Cell and Interpol Affairs in Hyderabad explaining everything. The complaint and FIR were faxed to Vizag Police Commissioner and the accused were arrested by 8 PM on the same day. Within 12 hours of receiving the complaint the police have filed a case and arrested Srinivas. The case was registered on Srinivas, his father VS Prakash Rao and 4 others under the section 498 A of IPC and section 3 and 6 of Domestic Violence Act.
Srinivas works as Human Resource Consultant in the US while his father VS Prakash Rao was a retired employee of Hindustan Zinc Limited. Swati’s father is a Librarian.
