Salman Khan has reportedly agreed to reduce his usual remuneration for his upcoming film with director Vamshi Paidipally.
The Bollywood superstar, who is known for commanding one of the highest fees in the industry, is said to have accepted a significantly lower upfront payment for the project, tentatively titled SVC63.
According to a report by The Free Press Journal, Salman will receive around ₹70 crore for the film, compared to his usual remuneration of approximately ₹120 crore. If true, this would mark one of the biggest fee reductions taken by the actor in recent years.
An industry source quoted in the report claimed that Salman’s decision was influenced by his close friendship with Rafi Kazi, who reportedly played an important role in bringing the project together.
The source added that Kazi is also expected to be credited as one of the film’s producers.
Salman reportedly agreed to support the project by accepting a lower upfront payment because of his personal bond with Kazi.
However, it is not yet clear whether the actor has negotiated a backend profit-sharing arrangement. The report stated that no information was available regarding such a deal.
Over the years, Salman has often preferred business models that allow him to earn a share of a film’s profits instead of relying solely on a fixed fee.
Since Dabangg in 2010, several of his films have either been produced by members of his family or backed by his own banner, Salman Khan Films.
Dabangg was produced by his brother Arbaaz Khan, while Bodyguard was backed by his sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri.
On the work front, Salman will next be seen in Apoorva Lakhia’s Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace. The makers have not yet announced the film’s official release date.
