Even after postponing the release and continuing negotiations with streaming platforms, no agreement has been reached so far.
The film initially generated massive hype and was touted as a potential Rs 1000 crore grosser.
However, that buzz faded quickly after its postponement, with industry circles now abuzz with speculation about its content.
The big question remains: why are OTT platforms holding back?
Despite his massive stardom and consistent box office pull, leading platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video are reportedly unwilling to meet the quoted price.
The makers are said to have initially demanded Rs 200 crore and are now ready to settle for around Rs 150 crore, but the platforms are offering nearly half that amount.
Timing appears to have worked against the project. The negotiations began at a time when the OTT market has slowed down significantly.
Had the deal been closed a year ago, the film might have fetched a much higher price. Currently, even films starring Prabhas are not commanding the kind of record deals they once did.
With no OTT deal in place yet, the film’s release date also remains uncertain.
