There is a small but important difference between saying “Okay, let us see” and giving a firm commitment to do a film. A communication gap seems to have occurred in the case of actress Rukmini Vasanth.
A film featuring Nithiin in the lead and produced by Nani is reportedly almost finalised. Nani is said to have liked the story narrated by Dhandoraa director Murali Kanth and is planning to produce it under his own banner.
Although an official announcement has not yet been made, the project is believed to be almost confirmed. The team is interested in casting Rukmini Vasanth as the female lead.
When approached, Rukmini reportedly said she would consider the project. However, before she gave any final confirmation, reports began circulating that she had been signed opposite Nithiin.
Nithiin is currently working on another film and is unlikely to become available before October. Rukmini is also busy with several projects and reportedly expressed doubts about whether she could adjust her dates by then.
The discussions have reportedly not gone beyond this stage.
Nani, meanwhile, is fully occupied with the shooting of The Paradise and is not in a position to focus on another project immediately. The film’s shooting is expected to be completed within a month.
More clarity about the Nithiin project is likely to emerge after that. It will then be known whether Rukmini Vasanth will be part of the film or not.
