Industry circles say the film exceeded its original budget long ago, yet surprisingly, its production is still incomplete.
As the production continues to drag on, fresh details are emerging about the extravagant expenses that are reportedly pushing costs even higher.
The latest buzz revolves around a Mumbai-based actor playing a key role in the film.
Sources say his call sheet was secured for just 10 days, with his remuneration itself running into several crores. However, it is not the fee that has become the talking point.
Apparently, the production initially arranged a private flight between Mumbai and Hyderabad at a cost of around Rs 15 lakh one way.
The actor is said to have rejected it, reportedly complaining that he had to bend while entering the aircraft. The makers then booked a larger private jet costing nearly Rs 25 lakh per one-way-travel. That alone pushed the round-trip travel bill to around Rs 50 lakh.
The spending did not stop there. A luxury villa in Hyderabad was reportedly rented for the actor at Rs 1.5 lakh per day.
Add to that the costs of his convoy, assistants, security, accommodation, logistics and other entourage-related expenses.
With such lavish spending on a limited schedule, it is no surprise that industry insiders are questioning how the film's budget spiraled out of control so quickly.
