Director's Remuneration Raises Many Eyebrows

Parasuram is undoubtedly a director with proven potential. He delivered a blockbuster with Geetha Govindam and established himself as a filmmaker capable of handling commercial entertainers effectively.

However, his last two films, Sarkaru Vaari Paata and The Family Star, failed to meet expectations and were considered disappointments.

What is surprising now is the talk surrounding his remuneration.

According to industry buzz, Parasuram is reportedly asking for around Rs 15 crore when working with a new hero, while he is said to be offering some concession when teaming up with an established star.

For a director coming off two unsuccessful films, such a figure is certainly bound to raise eyebrows.

Another interesting point is that Geetha Govindam was released in 2018. Nearly eight years have passed since then, and audience tastes, industry dynamics and competition have changed significantly.

Several new-generation directors are currently delivering fresh content, so it remains to be seen whether Parasuram can connect with today’s audience in the same way.

There is also talk that he has been accepting advances from multiple producers. While this is not unusual in the industry, it naturally raises questions about his priorities and project planning.

Ultimately, producers willing to pay such huge remuneration figures may be building castles in the air, according to an industry source.

More than anything else, Parasuram now needs a strong comeback.
