Heroes usually charge huge remuneration for films. Some pan-India stars reportedly take as much as Rs 100 crore after delivering massive blockbusters. However, there is another side to the film industry as well.
At a time when some actors are earning Rs 100 crore per film, a few heroes are working without taking any payment before release. Young actor reportedly did not receive even a single rupee before the release of Nagabandham. Now, another actor is following the same model.
This hero has been struggling with a series of flops and has also lost his non-theatrical market. Therefore, he agreed to allot dates for his new film without demanding a fixed remuneration. Interestingly, there are also no strict rules in the agreement.
The actor shares a good relationship with the producer. The two discussed the matter and reached a mutual understanding. An agreement was signed only for the advance amount.
They reportedly decided to share the non-theatrical revenue equally if the rights were sold before the film’s release. In case the non-theatrical deal is not closed before release, the actor will receive a share of the profits after the film hits theatres.
However, none of these terms were put on paper. Everything was agreed upon verbally. The hero reportedly imposed only one condition—that the film should be completed within 100 working days.
The producer is known to have a strong hold over the non-theatrical market and is expected to close the OTT deal without much difficulty. Therefore, the hero may not face any problem regarding his remuneration.
All he needs now is a solid hit.
