Suriya has bounced back strongly with the success of “Karuppu” and is now gearing up for the release of “Vishwanath And Sons” in August 2026.
Interestingly, Suriya reportedly assured producers of nearly Rs 50 crore when “Karuppu” ran into last-minute financial hurdles before its release. Since the film was backed by a family member, he had agreed to a relatively modest remuneration.
For “Vishwanath And Sons,” however, the actor is said to be receiving a significantly better paycheck.
Over the years, Suriya has reportedly sacrificed a portion of his earnings as several of his films, many produced by relatives and close associates, failed at the box office and resulted in losses.
With “Karuppu” emerging as a commercial winner, the actor now appears keen to capitalise on the momentum.
Suriya is currently committed to a project directed by a Malayalam filmmaker, leaving little room to renegotiate his compensation for that film.
However, industry buzz suggests that he plans to revise his remuneration structure immediately afterward.
As a result, his 48th and 49th films are expected to come with a substantial pay hike.
Buoyed by his latest success, Suriya is reportedly aiming to strengthen his position in the star league and command higher remuneration going forward.
