Actor Dhanush’s speech at a fan-organised blood donation event on Sunday has sparked fresh discussion.
Addressing a large gathering of supporters, the Tamil star urged his fans to look beyond regular movie celebrations and audio launches.
He said the strong turnout showed the unity among his fans and asked them to use that strength for meaningful social service.
Dhanush encouraged his supporters to identify the needs of families in their local areas and offer continuous help instead of limiting their activities to film-related events.
His remarks have now triggered speculation about a possible political future.
Before entering politics, Thalapathy Vijay also used his fan clubs to carry out large-scale welfare activities. He later launched his own political party.
Because of this similarity, some observers believe Dhanush may also be slowly preparing the ground for a political entry in Tamil Nadu.
During the same event, Dhanush also responded to the controversy over his National Award for Raayan.
He admitted that several other strong films had been released that year but urged critics to celebrate the overall recognition received by Tamil cinema at the national level.
On the work front, Dhanush is currently acting in OM: Chapter 1, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy of Amaran fame.
