Ram Charan earned praise recently when he reverted to the title “Mega Power Star,” the moniker he had carried for most of his career.
After the global success of *RRR*, he began using the tag “Global Star,” reflecting the international recognition that came with the film’s phenomenal run.
However, the title did not entirely resonate with fans. Following the setbacks of *Acharya* and especially *Game Changer*, the “Global Star” tag became a subject of trolling on social media.
Recognising this, Ram Charan returned to “Mega Power Star,” which was prominently used in the promotions of *Peddi*.
Many fans welcomed the move, viewing it as a more grounded and realistic approach.
But now, a fresh debate has emerged. Speaking at a recent event, Chiranjeevi declared that Ram Charan should be known as the “New Age Megastar.”
He explained that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had referred to Charan in similar terms during a conclave in New Delhi, prompting him to endorse the new title publicly.
The announcement has sparked mixed reactions. While some fans see it as a natural progression, others wonder whether yet another change is necessary.
After all, the title “Megastar” has been inseparably associated with Chiranjeevi for decades, just as “Power Star” remains firmly linked to Pawan Kalyan.
Frequent changes in monikers can sometimes create more confusion than excitement. A screen title gains strength through consistency and public acceptance over time.
That is precisely how titles such as Megastar, Power Star and Superstar became enduring brands.
Whether “New Age Megastar” catches on remains to be seen.
For now, the debate itself highlights an interesting question: does Ram Charan need a new title at all, especially one that sounds more like “Junior Megastar,” or is “Mega Power Star” already the strongest brand he can carry?
