Rajinikanth is often considered a cinematic saint who has no political desire, no selfishness, and who always speaks about spiritualism and devotion towards God.
But surprisingly, his true colors seem to have been exposed. He did not congratulate the new Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay on his X handle.
Before that, he also met Stalin of the DMK, probably on the advise of BJP, after the election results were declared, potentially to sabotage Vijay’s CM prospects, as claimed by a section of the media.
Whatever the case may be, being a politically neutral figure with no official relation to any party, and also being an elderly personality in Tamil cinema, Rajinikanth should have congratulated Vijay on becoming the Chief Minister of the state, the only film actor to achieve this after MGR and Jayalalithaa.
But he did not. His silence is questionable, and many are saying that Rajinikanth is upset about Vijay becoming CM.
On the other hand, Kamal Haasan played an active role in direct politics by setting up his own party some time ago and eventually merging it with the DMK.
In a way, there was no real need for him to congratulate Vijay on his swearing-in as Chief Minister of the state.
But he openly tweeted with warm words- "May the state of Tamil Nadu shine under the leadership of the president of TVK, the Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, my brother Thiru Vijay @TVKVijayHQ. May it reach new heights. I convey my heartfelt congratulations."
Well, technically Kamal Haasan too may hold some disappointment seeing Vijay achieve something that he could not. But he behaved like a mature elder in the industry, unlike Rajinikanth.
Kamal Hasan appears like a better role model than Rajni Kanth in this case.
Thus, the true colors of both the pan-India Tamil stars, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, seem to have been exposed.
