There is widespread speculation that Mahesh Babu may attend the pre-release event of Srinivasa Mangapuram, directed by Ajay Bhupathi.
The film stars Jaya Krishna in the lead role, while Rasha Thadani plays the female lead.
Since Jaya Krishna is the son of the late Ramesh Babu, Mahesh Babu’s elder brother, many assumed that the superstar would make a special appearance at the event to support his nephew’s important release.
However, sources indicate that Mahesh Babu will not attend the function. They claim that he is bound by an agreement related to Varanasi, which reportedly prevents him from making public appearances until the film’s release.
That explanation, however, has triggered fresh discussion within film circles.
Several observers feel that such a restriction appears unusual, especially when the occasion involves a close family member and marks an important milestone in his nephew’s career.
Some believe director S S Rajamouli is unlikely to object to Mahesh Babu attending a family-related event. They argue that a personal occasion of this nature should not conflict with professional commitments, leading to speculation that there may be another reason behind his absence.
“Something or someone else must be stopping him,” an insider said.
As of now, neither Mahesh Babu nor his team has issued any official clarification on the matter.
