Allu Arjun’s recent interaction with fans has triggered an unexpected controversy online.
While the actor’s main message was about avoiding negativity and fan wars, one particular comment from his speech has gone viral for the wrong reasons.
Speaking at the Allu Arjun Fans Association meeting in Hyderabad on Tuesday, July 28, the actor addressed a large gathering and urged fans not to waste their time trolling people they dislike.
“I have wanted to say something to my fans, anti-fans and haters for a long time. If you don’t like someone, don’t waste your time hating or trolling them,” he said.
Allu Arjun encouraged fans to focus on their own lives and interests instead of targeting others on social media.
However, a short clip from the same speech soon went viral. In the video, the actor is heard saying, “Go and wait in front of the house of the girl you like instead.”
The remark drew criticism from several social media users, who argued that it could be misunderstood as encouraging inappropriate behaviour towards women.
Some users accused the actor of lacking awareness and said public figures should be careful while giving advice to fans.
One user wrote, “Truly zero awareness.”
Another commented that Allu Arjun should be more cautious about what he tells his followers.
Some critics went further, saying the remark could romanticise behaviour that may be viewed as stalking or harassment.
Others questioned whether the actor would take responsibility if fans acted on his words.
Although Allu Arjun appeared to make the comment in a lighter context while discouraging online abuse, the viral clip has overshadowed the larger message of his speech.
On the work front, Allu Arjun was last seen in Pushpa 2: The Rule, which emerged as a massive box-office success.
He is currently preparing for Raaka, directed by Atlee and featuring Deepika Padukone as the female lead.
