Nandamuri Balakrishna and Gopichand Malineni’s highly anticipated film #NBK111 has been dynamically titled Dada.
Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the Vriddhi Cinemas banner, the film had already generated strong buzz with its birthday glimpse. The title glimpse, along with a special poster, has further added to the excitement.
Dressed in a leather jacket, sunglasses and a heavy gold chain, Balakrishna carries a weapon on his shoulder in the poster.
His intense look and powerful stance give the character a gangster-like swagger. The real attraction, however, is the confrontation sequence showcased in the glimpse.
The glimpse begins with an author speaking about the extraordinary aura surrounding Balakrishna’s character and referring to him as Sher.
The atmosphere changes when police officers surround him and threaten to shoot him in the chest. He turns the situation around with a powerful response centred on the courage required to actually pull the trigger.
It is the kind of exchange designed specifically for a theatrical setting, where Balakrishna’s dialogue delivery, screen presence and the background score can come together to create a major fan moment.
Director Gopichand Malineni appears to be leaning heavily into Balakrishna’s mass appeal while giving the character a stylish makeover.
The title Dada fits the character’s aggressive personality, while the additional tag, The King of Chaos, makes his role in the story even more intriguing.
S Thaman’s score plays a crucial role in maintaining the momentum.
The energetic “Raja Hoon Main” track adds another layer to the visual presentation and makes the glimpse feel like a celebration of Balakrishna’s screen persona.
As announced by the makers, Dada will arrive in theatres as a Christmas special on December 24.
