Kiran Abbavaram and Sri Gauri Priya’s Chennai Love Story is continuing its strong run at the box office.
The film has been generating considerable buzz online, and reports suggest that it has even replaced Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan at several centres across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The move reflects the growing demand for the Telugu romantic drama.
Released in theatres on July 24, Chennai Love Story received mixed reviews from critics. However, the criticism has not affected its box office performance so far.
The film opened with ₹4.95 crore net in India. On its first Saturday, it registered an 11.11 per cent growth and collected ₹5.50 crore.
On Day 3, the film recorded another jump of 13.6 per cent, earning ₹6.25 crore net across 1,853 shows.
With this, its three-day India net collection has reached ₹16.70 crore, while the India gross stands at approximately ₹19.21 crore.
Overseas, the film collected around ₹1 crore on Day 3, taking its total international gross to ₹4.80 crore.
The worldwide gross collection of Chennai Love Story now stands at nearly ₹24.01 crore.
Directed by Ravi Namburi, the film is produced by Srinivasa Kumar and Sai Rajesh under the Mass Movie Makers and Amrutha Productions banners.
Mani Sharma has composed the music.
With steady growth over the opening weekend and strong demand in the Telugu states, Chennai Love Story has emerged as a surprise box office performer.
