An unexpected incident can sometimes trigger a chain of events that changes the lives of several people. Chitralayam Studios’ upcoming new-age crime comedy, Baa Baa Black Sheep, revolves around such an intriguing situation, bringing together crime, comedy and entertainment in a distinctive narrative.
Presented by Donepudi Chakrapani and produced by Venu Donepudi under the Chitralayam Studios banner, the film is directed by Guni Manchikanti.
The ensemble cast includes Tinnu Anand, Upendra Limaye, George Maryan, Akshay Lagusani, Vishnu Oi, Karthikeya, Vismayasri, Malavi, Kasyap, Raja Ravindra and others in key roles.
Adding to the film’s uniqueness is its production journey. Baa Baa Black Sheep is the first South Indian film to be shot entirely in Meghalaya.
The team explored several scenic locations across the state, including the breathtaking landscapes of Cherrapunji.
The film’s teaser had already generated interest by introducing its quirky characters and offering a glimpse into their distinctive personalities.
With its fast-paced narration, unusual situations, comedy and unexpected twists, the teaser hinted at an entertaining crime-comedy experience.
The makers have now announced that Baa Baa Black Sheep will hit theatres on October 9, coinciding with the Dussehra festive season.
Along with the release-date announcement, the team also unveiled the film’s first lyrical song, Aaja Meri Jaani, which was launched by Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad.
Devi Sri Prasad praised the song for its youthful vibe and appreciated the team for attempting a different concept. He congratulated the entire team and wished the film great success.
‘Aaja Meri Jaani’ Brings Youthful Energy
Aaja Meri Jaani is an energetic party number presented as a colourful and vibrant musical treat. Featuring Akshay Lagusani and Vishnu Oi, the song offers lively visuals along with a catchy and upbeat mood.
Electronic Kili and Arcado have composed the music, while Kittu Vissapragada has penned the lyrics. Benny Dayal’s energetic vocals add further zing to the track. With its peppy rhythm, youthful composition and colourful presentation, the song is expected to appeal particularly to music lovers and younger audiences.
Speaking about the film, producer Venu Donepudi said, “We have successfully completed the shoot of Baa Baa Black Sheep, which is based on an interesting incident. The post-production work is currently in its final stage, and we are gearing up for a grand theatrical release on October 9 during the Dussehra festive season.
“Being the first South Indian film to be shot entirely in Meghalaya is a special achievement for us. We had the privilege of filming at spectacular locations such as Cherrapunji. Through careful planning and teamwork, we successfully completed the shoot within the planned schedule.
