There has been considerable confusion surrounding the release plans of Ram Charan’s “Peddi” in Telangana, particularly regarding ticket price hikes and premiere shows.
The uncertainty deepened after the film’s team withdrew its petition from the Telangana High Court. Before approaching the court, the producers had reportedly submitted representations to the Home Secretary on two occasions, seeking permission for enhanced ticket prices.
With no response forthcoming, they moved the High Court, requesting directions to the government.
During the hearing, the court referred to previous judgments on ticket price revisions and declined to issue any specific directions. Following the court’s observations, the producers chose to withdraw the petition.
However, according to information available exclusively to GreatAndhra, the makers subsequently approached Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, seeking approval for both special premiere shows and enhanced ticket prices.
The Chief Minister is understood to have responded positively to the request, and the team is now awaiting the formal government order.
Sources indicate that the producers have sought an additional Rs 600 over the regular ticket price for premiere shows and Day 1 screenings. They are also expected to receive the standard ticket price hike for the subsequent days of the film’s run.
In another significant development, “Peddi” is likely to have paid premiere shows in Telangana on June 3, in line with the schedule planned in Andhra Pradesh.
The special screenings are expected to begin between 7:30 PM and 8:30 PM, allowing fans in both Telugu states to watch the film simultaneously ahead of its worldwide release on June 4.
An official government order is expected shortly, which should clear the air on the much-discussed ticket pricing and premiere-show plans.
