There were reports earlier that director Prashanth Neel had decided to change his approach for NTR’s upcoming film Dragon.
Since his earlier films like K.G.F: Chapter 1, K.G.F: Chapter 2 and Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire were known for their dark visuals and intense narrative style, there was speculation that Dragon would feature brighter visuals and a more regular commercial presentation.
However, with the glimpse released today, it appears that Neel has once again stayed close to the style he is most comfortable with, proving that all those reports were mere bluff.
The visuals, mood and staging strongly remind audiences of the worlds he previously created for Yash and Prabhas.
Some sources say Neel initially experimented with a different tone for the film, but later felt that such an approach would not suit the narrative.
In one way, fans are happy to see NTR presented in the same mass-heavy style.
At the same time, some critics feel Neel is relying too much on a familiar template and has yet to showcase greater versatility.
