Film Industry! Learn Basics From This Young Producer

The title may sound provocative, but the point behind it is simple: Anupriya Nagar’s approach offers a useful reminder to the film industry that success does not always have to lead to uncontrolled spending.

At just 21, the producer appears focused on keeping the sequel’s scale connected to the story instead of increasing the budget merely because the first film performed well.

The success of Hanuman Ansh has not changed 21-year-old producer Anupriya Nagar’s approach to its proposed sequel.

Despite reports suggesting that Hanuman Ansh 2 could be made on a budget of Rs. 10–20 crore, Anupriya says there is no reason to increase the spending simply because the first film succeeded.

She believes the sequel should be made on a similar budget unless the story genuinely demands a larger scale.

What stands out is her focus on authenticity rather than unnecessary spending. Anupriya says a bigger budget does not automatically make a film better and could lead to excessive use of VFX or AI that may not suit the story.

For a period film, she believes the landscape, visual texture, atmosphere and overall world are as important as the characters. She also says the audience’s support means the producers have a responsibility not to waste money.

She has also clarified that Hanuman Ansh was made for slightly more than Rs. 1.5 crore and remained below Rs. 2 crore, with three producers sharing the investment equally.

As for the sequel, no release date has been decided yet because the director has committed to another film and the team has not yet had a detailed discussion about the project.

Her approach offers a simple lesson: scale should follow the story, not the hype surrounding its success.
